Sandra Hill, current PhD candidate

Painter

Media: Natural pigments, handmade paper, linen canvas

Sandra studied Fine Art at St Martin's School of Art, with Post-Graduate studies at Chelsea College of Art. She lived for several years in both South and East Asia, cultures which have always influenced her work. Her current study brings together many years of involvement in the study of Eastern Philosophy with an interest in the imagery of tantra. Her research project, ‘Approaching the Formless: through the non-figurative imagery of the Hindu tantric traditions,’ has provided the opportunity to explore this imagery through arts practice. Sandra teaches a module on Daoism for the Temenos Academy’s Foundation Course in the Perennial Philosophy.
