Rosalind Whitman

Painter, Printmaker

Rosalind is a figurative painter, etcher and relief sculptor, frequently drawing inspiration from religious iconography, myths and fables. She studied Fine Art printmaking at the Slade School, University College London, and later attended the Princes Foundation, School of Traditional Arts, where she gained a doctoral degree in 2017. The aim of her research, entitled ‘The Fire of the Imagination’, was to understand more fully how the artist’s imagination is woven into the making process itself. She has taught as a freelance lecturer at a number of colleges including the School of Traditional Arts and The University of the Arts, London. She participates in various print collectives including, East London Printmakers, The Printmakers Council, and Greenwich Printmakers, and she regularly exhibits in mixed themed shows across the UK and abroad. Her most recent solo exhibition, ‘Transformations’ was held at the Highgate Gallery in North London, running from 15-28 September 2023.
