Lisa DeLong received her PhD from the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in 2007. Her work focused on principles of geometric design common to the Islamic and Western traditions. She joined the School’s Outreach team in 2006, working on projects in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Ecuador, Pakistan, Philippines, and China. Lisa is Outreach Programme Manager for the School, developing and implementing educational programmes for the School’s international Centres. As Head of the Open Programme, Lisa also works with the team to bring the School’s ethos and methodology to the wider public, both in person and online.

Lisa is the author of Curves: Flowers, Foliates and Flourishes in the Formal Decorative Arts (Wooden Books, 2013). In 2016, she presented “Geometry: Hidden in Plain Sight” at TEDx BYU. She was recently a featured artist in the BYUtv Artful documentary series.
