Young people studying three-dimensional geometry

Azerbaijan Schools

Our HARMONY programme is steadily demonstrating its applicability and adaptability to the UK National Curriculum. As a result, we are being invited by ministries of education in other countries to lend our experience and expertise.

In Azerbaijan, for instance, we are piloting cross-curricula resources for teachers to use in their classrooms and to help engage Azerbaijani children with their national traditions and culture. This programme was initiated in three Azerbaijani schools: geometry is learned through exploring geometric patterning in textiles, architecture and large 3-D structures; botany and chemistry through designing biomorphic decorative panels inspired by the Sheki Palace. The resources developed as a result of this experience will be used by teachers and students in school time, and by our Icherisheher Centre in their Kids Club outside school hours.
