Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)

The STEM programme aims to make STEM skills, appreciation and careers available to all learners.

On a visit to our centre, learners spend time indoors and outdoors, taking part in practical activities around key concepts meeting real-world STEM professionals and solving some of the challenges of the future.

STEM principles underpin our educational activities on the estate, where science and technology curriculum areas are integrated in an experiential way that teaches about the real world. Very specifically, Engineering and science programmes are delivered via day visits and events in the Morphy Richards Engineering Education Centre.

Pupils are challenged to explore real-world problems through the process of ‘imagine, design, build and test.’ By applying their skills and knowledge to create these solutions, young people gain an insight into the varied and exciting career choices and encourage them to pursue STEM subjects at school and beyond.
